Aberdeen Main Street has installed a new four-sided clock to greet visitors as they enter the historic downtown from Highway 45 South.

The clock was paid for with private donations as part of efforts to may downtown more attractive.

A plaque eventually will dedicate the clock to the city’s former mayors.

Meanwhile, scarecrows of all shapes and sizes are popping up in front of businesses and offices as part of the city’s annual scarecrow trail.

The scarecrows will remain on display until Nov. 16. when Christmas decorations will take over.
