Video: New Hope Middle Hosts Science Fair

NEW HOPE, Miss. (WCBI) — Some New Hope students are getting a science lesson outside of the classroom.

New Hope middle schoolers and their families packed the auditorium Thursday night for a science family night.

Attendees took advantage of more than 20 interactive booths on display.

Teachers say they want to encourage students to potentially look at having a career in science.

“We wanted to have a family science fair, where families had the opportunity to come and experience the magic of science, so we wanted families to know that science is fun, and hopefully inspire kids for a future career one day,” said Tracy Davis, seventh grade science teacher.

The physics and aeronautics departments from Mississippi State University were also on hand for the event.
