New Trial Ordered For Alcorn County Man
JACKSON, MS (WCBI) – The Mississippi Court of Appeals says a Corinth man should get a new trial for aggravated domestic assault. 55 year old James Johnson was sentenced to 10 years in prison for strangling his wife during an argument.
Johnson appealed his conviction saying prosecutors should not have been able to tell jurors about prior domestic violence incidents involving Johnson and former girlfriends and wives. The high court today agreed with that argument and ordered a new trial in his case.
