LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — The likely change in the attitude of the North Lee Water Association board could mean the end to two lawsuits facing the utility and changes in the way it operates.

The election Guntown restaurant owner Terry Gurley to replace Ray Stanford likely means Terry Anderson won’t be re-elected board president when the board meets Thursday.

David Morgan is said to have the votes to become the new president.

Morgan already has told the Daily Journal in Tupelo he’d like to see a whistle blower lawsuit and a 9-year-old contract dispute settled rather than spend more money on legal costs.

The new board also may limit future expansions to reduce potential rates increases for the utility’s 4,400 customers.
