Video: NMMC Hosts Neonatal Reunion

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — It was a very special reunion.

The North Mississippi Medical Center Women’s hospital invited all its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit “graduates” and their families to an annual reunion.

This year’s theme was the Wizard of Oz, and the children were encouraged to dress like their favorite Oz character.

“Most of them were born before 40 weeks gestation,” said Dana Hobby, NMMC. “Most of them were born really early and are very sick when they’re born so they spend a lot of time in the hospital with us, two to three months at a time, and then they get to go home, but we love to reunite with them.”

Many of the parents who came to this weekend’s reunion say they will come back every year, because the bond between their children and the staff was so special.
