Video: No Charges Against Houlka Officer

HOUSTON, MS (WCBI)- A Houlka police officer will not face charges in connection with an arrest earlier this month.   Houlka resident Charlissa Griffin had filed simple assault charges against Blake Westmoreland after he arrested her on a disorderly conduct charge.  State law requires a probable cause hearing to make certain charges are warranted when a law enforcement officer or an educator is the subject of the claims.   During a probable cause hearing today in Houston, A judge determined Westmoreland acted properly during the arrest and no assault occurred.  WCBI will have more on this story tonight.
