North Mississippi Company Looking At Hefty OSHA Fines

CORINTH, MS (WCBI) – A Corinth company could be fined more than $50,000 after two workers are injured on the job.  The Occupational and Safety Health Administration says Mississippi Polymers did not follow safety guidelines which contributed to two different accidents.  In both cases workers caught their hands in the rollers on a machine while trying to clean it.  OSHA says protective guards were not in place and the workers were not properly trained in safety procedures.  The total proposed fines total $56,340.  Mississippi Polymers has the option of appealing the citations before they become official.
