FULTON, Miss. (WCBI)- Almost two weeks have gone by and there’s still hasn’t been any sign of Fulton resident Deborah Evans-Bell.

On Saturday, concerned family members, friends and residents in the community came together today to participate in a search party for Bell.

Bell was first reported missing on February 8th.

However, Fulton Police Chief Reggie Johnson, said Bell could have missing longer than that.

“Upon investigation we’ve found out that Mrs. Bell has not been seen in the community since the first of January and that is a concern to us,” Johnson said.

The search is still under investigation, and as of now, the Fulton Police Department doesn’t have any suspects or leads.

“That’s my neighbor and it’s so painful to me as I walk out the house everyday and never see her face,” Fulton resident Gregory Green said.

Concerned and wanting to do something, residents loaded up of 4 wheelers, gathered walking sticks and headed out into these woods hoping to find their missing friend.

“She was very active in church, she had got her life together, was attending church every sunday, so when you miss a person from church, then you have questions, for someone that’s attending church every sunday and then come up missing, we have questions,” Green said.

And Those questions are still trying to be answered.

Chief Johnson said  the police department has been interviewing persons of interests but currently have no leads or where abouts from Bell.

“Right now we don’t actually have a suspect, we have interviewed close associates and close friends extensively and of course that’s an on going investigation, and right now we’re just haven’t gotten anywhere, we’re just looking for something to break this thing,” Johnson said.

Chief Johnson also said Bell has a history of medical problems.

“I think she was a diabetic, and right now we’re doing some investigation on her medical background and things like that which takes time,” Johnson said.

Though things may look dim now, family and friends are trying to remain hopeful and think of the good times they shared with Bell.

“A very caring person, she’s be out here holding up these flyers right now had it been one of us,” Green said.

“I’ve known her all my life and right now, I sure would like to hug her neck and like to see her again,” Johnson said.

Mississippi Bureau of Investigation the Itawamba Sheriff Department is currently assisting the Fulton Police Department on this search.
