Nov. 14 Adoption Date for Puppy Mill Rescue Dogs

BILOXI, Miss. (AP) — Some of the 123 small-breed dogs recently rescued from two North Mississippi puppy mills will be available for adoption Nov. 14 in south Mississippi.

The Humane Society of South Mississippi said Friday in a news release that adoptions will be first-come, first-served. Adoption fees are $175.

A newspaper reports that the dogs have been under evaluation by Humane Society staff and volunteers for 10 days to prepare them for adoption.

The society participated in the dogs’ rescue from two puppy mills in Corinth, where they were housed in substandard conditions.
