MACON, Miss. (WCBI) — Some Noxubee County students are getting creative with their reading skills.

It’s all for a reading fair, Wednesday, at BF Liddell Middle School.

Students from different area schools created display boards based on books they’ve read, like Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, and The Wizard of Oz.

The boards were judged on several factors, like clarity of writing, creativity, and quality of project.

“I am very impressed with these students this year with the level of work that they have displayed,” said Cynthia Dawkins, language arts teacher. “We have good boards entered this year. These displays are based on lessons taught in the classrooms by the teachers.”

Kindergarten through eighth graders submitted 25 entries for the fair.

Winners will advance to a regional fair later this year.
