Noxubee Man Apparently Drowns

NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)– A 59-year-old Macon man who hadn’t been seen since Tuesday afternoon is found dead in one of his favorite fishing holes.

Noxubee County Sheriff Terry Grassaree says searchers found Henry King Thursday evening in Horse Hunter’s Creek near a Highway 45 bridge just north of Noxubee County High School. His family had reported him missing earlier Thursday.

Grassaree said he’d last been seen fishing at the bridge Tuesday. Friends say he often walked there and other locations in the area to fish. The creek is a popular spot because it runs along some nearby ponds on a catfish farm.

The sheriff says foul play is not suspected at this point. An autopsy is being performed today in Jackson. King was known to have a history of some health problems.
