Officer On Leave After Alleged Fraudulent Report Filed

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI)-A fraudulent report filed to a credit company leaves one Aberdeen officer off the force.

Last night, Aberdeen Aldermen reviewed the case in executive session.

Apparently, Aberdeen Police Officer Jason Franks filed a report to credit company Experian claiming he was victim of identity theft.

The document filed had what appeared to be officer David Kuykendall’s signature along with a forged Aberdeen Police Department case number.

The credit company reported the report was fraudulent two to three weeks ago.

Both officers were removed from the force after the report was found to be fraudulent.

Last night Aldermen voted 5-0 to reinstate both officers.

Ward 5 Aldermen John Allan clarified to Aberdeen Police Chief Henry Randle that Kuykendall had not signed the document.

Kuykendall will return to work January 22 but Franks will remain off the force until the investigation is concluded.
