Video: Okolona Church Hosts Drug Prevention Program
OKOLONA, Miss. – (WCBI) An Okolona church turns to law enforcement and members of the medical community to teach area young people the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
They used real life situations, including the death of Michael Jackson, to show that drug use and abuse can be fatal. Chickasaw County Narcotics Agent, Deputy Keith Roberson also offered them tips on how to say no, even when their peers apply pressure.
“Peer pressure is a big influence on our youth today. We have an opportunity to speak into our kids’ lives, to give them the opportunity to make the right decisions, but it takes us as police officers and as a community to do that,” says Roberson.
This is an on-going series hosted by Calvary Baptist Church in Okolona. They will be addressing a number of issues that teenagers are faced with everyday.
