OKOLONA, Miss. (WCBI)-The Okolona School District now has a new superintendent to help it come out of state oversight.

The district’s new school board had offered the job to Arkansas educator Doctor Jerry Wood who declined citing personal reasons.

Woods told the board this week he wasn’t going to take the position, citing personal reasons.

The board met this morning [Monday] with Dexter Green, a principal in the Tunica County School District who accepted the position contingent on his release from his current school district.

The 23-year education veteran should begin his new job April First.
