Okolona Passes $2 Million Bond Issue

OKOLONA, Miss. (WCBI) — Okolona voters pass their $2 million school bond issue.

1,036 voters supported the measure which will now pay for improvements to the Okolona Central office, a new high school football stadium, and renovations to all Okolona school buildings.

It was historic night for Okolona, making it the first time voters have approved a bond issue.

627 people voted against it.

52 affavadit ballots have yet to be certified, but with more than the 60 percent of the vote required, their outcome will not sway the results.
