Oktibbeha Coroner Pleads Guilty to DUI

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt pleads guilty to DUI charges.

Hunt was sentenced to six months probation and fined $809 after entering his plea in Lowndes County Justice Court. He also must undergo three random urinalysis tests as part of his probation.

Hunt was arrested Nov. 8 after a state trooper spotted him driving erratically on Highway 82. He was not in a county vehicle.

Because it is a misdemeanor, the guilty plea does not impact his elected coroner’s position but could limit his ability to drive a county-owned vehicle.
