OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – One year after five pit bulls attacked two children living on Charlottes Way just off Self Creek Road in Oktibbeha County, the family is dealing with another attack.

After last year’s attack, at least four of the dogs were put down and the owner fined

“You know the kids have not been able to play out in the back yard and feel safe about it. You know, I mean I see it on my son’s face every day when I look at him. He is scared,” said Katie Riehle, mother.

When we first walked down Charlotte’sWay a year ago, a neighbor told us of the horrific attack that left a four year old bleeding and his 10 year old brother playing dead on this road….so he could live.

“They were concerned about nerve damage in his arm and his face. Because he had very deep wounds in his arm and his face. And they spent five hours the first night he was in the hospital, working on his face alone,” said Katie Riehle.

The same owner that was fined a year ago has more dogs now.

Walking along the main road about 100 yards from his home, 16 year old Zeniff Riehle says at least five or more pit bull dogs jumped him Monday.

“Apparently the dogs came up on him and just surrounded him and a neighbor happened by and pulled him in his truck and brought him home,”added Katie Riehle.

“The only thing that was going through my mind is, I either have to fight these dogs off or run,” said Zeniff Riehle, Dog Attack Victim.

“I would like to see these dogs gone. I don’t really know anything else, I just don’t want any more pit bulls in the neighborhood,” said Zeniff Riehle.

The Riehle family and others have pushed for months for a tough vicious animal law like ones in New Albany, Houston and Lowndes County.

But they say they haven’t had much luck with county supervisors.
