Oktibbeha Residents Address Concerns about Unity Park

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-A public meeting was held Saturday morning in Starkville to address concerns over Unity Park.

The meeting was held at the Oktibbeha County Courthouse Annex where residents were able to voice their concerns about the two remaining plaques that would honor national or local figures who fought for equality. District 5 Supervisor Joe Williams says, after listening to all the residents concerns they are able to take the next step to unveil the plaques.

“Gather all those concerns and put those concerns on paper and be ready to present those concerns to the Oktibbeha County Board of supervisors for approval,” says Joe Williams.

The group will meet again at Next Saturday afternoon at 3:30 to finalize and present the requests made on Saturday.
