STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – It was a full house at the Shriner Club in Starkville this evening for a high school reunion. Alumni all the way back to the 1940’s of the Oktibbeha Training School and Henderson High School were present at the banquet. Every year OTS and Henderson High raise money to help young people in Oktibbeha County to enhance their education.

“For the community this is very important because for one thing the community comes together as one and not only we have the scholarships we also have alumni from both schools come together to keep the legacy going for high school and OCS also,” said James Turner, Vice President of the Scholarship Fund.

Alumni get together every two years to share memories and raise money for the scholarship fund.

This year 12 graduates received the scholarships. The scholarships range from $500 to $1,000 that they can use for college.
