Ole Miss Students Take National Title in Law Competition

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – A pair of Ole Miss students take home top honors.

Classmates Tray Lyons of Lee County and Eric Duke of Jackson teamed up to win the family law Gabrielli National Moot Court Competition at New Albany Law School in New York. It’s the second championship in 2014 for the Ole Miss School of Law. The duo defeated Seton Hall University School of Law in the final round. In the competition, students argue fictional cases that resemble real cases to be heard by appellate courts. They are then judged on written briefs and oral arguments.

More than 20 school participated in the competition.
