One Injured In Early Morning Car Accident

LOWNDES CO., Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – MHP responded to a two vehicle MVA on US 82 around 05:56 A.M. Wednesday morning on the west side of the Tenn-Tom Bridge, in Lowndes County.

A black 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe and a Silver 2004 Ford F150 were traveling west on US 82.

As both vehicles approached the west end of the Tenn-Tom Bridge the left front of the Ford collided with the right rear of the Chevrolet which caused the Chevrolet to veer of the highway to the left and crash into the cable barriers.

The Ford veered right, collided into the bridge railings and then left the highway to the right, coming to rest in a ditch off the north shoulder of US 82.

The driver of the Ford, 48 year old James Allen of Hamilton Mississippi was uninjured in the accident.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 20 year old Brenda Miller of Cleveland, Mississippi was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital for further medical treatment.

The accident remains under investigation by MHP.
