Video: Columbus Man Killed In Lowndes County Crash

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Columbus man is killed in an afternoon crash in Lowndes County.

The accident happened at the four-way stop at the intersection of Highways 45 and 182, just before 2 p.m.

State troopers say a Ford F-350 pulled onto Highway 45 and was hit in the passenger side by an 18-wheeler.

The driver of the big rig, 41 year-old Ronald Stamey of Cleveland, Tennessee, was not injured.

30-year-old Fitzgerald Roby of Brooksville, the driver of the truck, and 19-year-old Collin Robinson of Crawford, were taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.

The man in the backseat of the truck, 24-year-old Eddie James Jethrow, III of Columbus, died at the scene.
