One Man Injured In Monroe County Shooting

HAMILTON, Miss. (WCBI) — One man is shot near Hamilton High School Wednesday and Monroe County deputies make one arrest and are searching for another man.

Deputies have arrested Shadrick Ware of Aberdeen in connection to the shooting.

Investigators are searching for Daquane Payne, also of Aberdeen, who is wanted for questioning.

Investigators say the shooting happened on Collins Lane, near the football stadium, about 6:30 PM.

One vehicle believed to be used in the shooting was recovered in Aberdeen.

Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said that the victim, Dwayne Robinson, was shot in the right hip and is believed to be from Lowndes County.

The victim was taken to a Tupelo hospital.

Cantrell said multiple shots were fired.

Investigators warn that Payne is considered armed and dangerous.
