Overturned 18-Wheeler Closes Highway 45

JACKSON, Miss., Wednesday, January 30, 2013— According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), all north and southbound lanes of Highway 45 are closed in Monroe County.

An 18-wheeler truck has overturned and all north and southbound lanes of Highway 45 are closed just three miles south of Shannon in Monroe County. Crews are on the scene working on the cleanup of this accident. Traffic is being turned around at this time. The closure could last for approximately three hours.

MDOT will keep motorists posted on road conditions as information becomes available. Motorists are encouraged to take an alternate route and expect delays when traveling in this area while crews work on the cleanup of this accident.
