Oxford Police Investigate Suspicious Package

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) – Authorities say a suspicious package that caused the evacuation of an Oxford theater was not dangerous.

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/1anxzjC ) reports that a suspicious package was discovered in front of the Malco Studio Commons movie complex around 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Oxford Asst. Police Chief Kevin Stark says the package has proven not to be dangerous.

It’s not clear what the package was.
