Oxford Teen Charged with Burglary

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) — An Oxford teenager is facing burglary charges in North Mississippi, months after spending time in South Florida.

Oxford police are charging 19-year-old Dexter Toney with burglary and grand larceny.

Investigators say they linked Toney to a stolen vehicle from last May, which also had items from a house burglary.

Police issued warrants for Toney, and found him in Miami, Florida in October.

Toney refused extradition, and investigators were able to get a governor’s warrant to bring him back to Lafayette County last week.

His bond has been set at $25,000.
