Video: Parts of Highway 30 Soon to be Named After Miss. Author

UNION COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — One award winning Mississippi author will soon have his name along Highway 30.

William Faulkner Scenic Byway will be the new name along parts of Mississippi Highway 30, connecting New Albany with Oxford.

The route will be 15.7 miles long including intersections of Darden Road and Hopewell Road.

The Mississippi Transportation Commission approved the new name earlier this week.

Congress created the state’s scenic byway program to recognize particular roads with historic quality.

The Nobel Prize Winning author is known for writing “The Sound of Fury” and “As I lay dying.”
