Parvin To Remain Jailed

ABERDEEN, Ms (WCBI)  Accused murderer David Parvin will remain jailed while he waits for a new trial on charges he killed his wife.

Judge Paul Funderburk Tuesday rejected a defense request  for bail for the retired professor.  The Mississippi Supreme Court in April threw out Parvin’s 2011 conviction in the death of his wife at their Monroe County home.  Defense attorney Jim Waide argues that Parvin posed no threat to the public if he was freed.

Prosecutors countered that Parvin was not emotionally stable enough to be free while he waits for the  second trial.
