Pastor Arrest Lawsuit Finished

(COLUMBUS, MS) WCBI -A Columbus pastor has been awarded 10 thousand dollars in damages in connection with his arrest four years ago.

Columbus Church of the Nazarene Pastor Stephen Joiner was handcuffed and charged with obstructing traffic during a March 30 ,2011 pro life demonstration.  Police claimed Joiner was violating the city’s parade ordinance.  Those charges were dismissed in county court but Joiner sued the city for violating his free speech rights.  Joiner will also receive attorneys fees on top of the damages
