Pawn Shop Robber Sentenced

Timothy Montgomery

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) – A Tupelo man is sentenced for his part in the 2009 robbery of a Nettleton pawn shop

Timothy Montgomery was sentenced Wednesday (11/1) to 10 years in prison.

The 31 year old pleaded guilty to one count of stealing firearms and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The charges stem from a robbery at Gold Exchange.

He faced up to 35 years behind bars.

His accomplice, Ryan Hearn pleaded guilty earlier this month.

Hearn has yet to be sentenced.

Investigators think both men entered the pawn shop to steal cash and guns.

Montgomery distracted store workers while Hearn hit an employee, jumped the counter and grabbed the guns.

The duo was confronted by the store’s owner but managed to escape.
