Piney Woods Heritage Festival Set for Nov. 14, 15

PICAYUNE, Miss. (Press Release) — The public can look back at the early days of Mississippi’s Piney Woods region during the 12th annual Piney Woods Heritage Festival on Nov. 14 and 15.

The traditional skills, crafts and arts of the region’s people will be displayed at the Mississippi State University Crosby Arboretum.

Visitors will view educational displays and skills demonstrations including blacksmithing, quilting, spinning, basket-making and more.

The event is open to preregistered school groups on Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $2 per child and free for teachers, chaperones and bus drivers.

The event is open to the general public on Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children and free for arboretum members.
