Plant Fire Under Investigation

TISHOMINGO CO., Miss. (WCBI) – An early Thursday morning fire at a Tishomingo County plant remains under investigation.

Fire Coordinator Ricky Cummings tells WCBI a fire was reported just after five at Mississippi Silicon in Burnsville.

The blaze started on the fifth floor of the facility. That’s where the cookers are located.

Cummings says employees noticed an issue with a conveyer belt.

It appears that’s where the fire started.

The company reports minimal damage. No employees were hurt.

About 15 fire departments from Tishomingo, Alcorn and Prentiss Counties responded to the blaze.
