Plenty of Fun Coming in June’s Tupelo Elvis Festival

TUPELO, Miss. – The Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association is excited to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Tupelo Elvis Festival, which will be held June 6-9, 2013. The preparation began shortly after the 2012 festival and there is a lot to look forward to.

The Tupelo Elvis Festival is known for the Elvis Tribute Artist Competition that takes place at the Lyric Theatre in Downtown Tupelo. Contestants will compete for the title of Tupelo’s Elvis Tribute Artist. Each night former Tupelo winners will perform their tribute to the King of Rock n’ Roll. The performers include Victor Trevino, Bill Cherry, Brandon Bennett, Kevin Mills, Tyler Hunter, David Lee and Cody Slaughter.

An exciting addition to the Lyric will be “Conversations on the Ultimate with Tom Brown”. A native of Tupelo, Tom Brown will sit down with Tupelo’s Ultimates Brandon Bennett, Bill Cherry and Cody Slaughter to discuss what it’s like being the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist.

Fairpark is another well-known part of the Tupelo Elvis Festival. With a record breaking 2012 festival, Fairpark is looking forward to another successful year. With more announcements to come, the planning committee is excited to announce the Friday night headliner, Cowboy Mouth. With 15 Top 10 songs and 5 Number 1 hits, Montgomery Gentry will be the headliner for the Saturday night concert.

Tickets for the Lyric competition and concerts will be on sale Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Walk in customers can secure tickets at 9 am central at the Elvis Festival office located at 108 S.
