Update: Police Arrest Suspect in Connection with Sept. 6 Fatal Shooting

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A third man is arrested in a deadly Columbus shooting that occurred nearly three weeks ago.

Kirby Erby, 20, is charged with murder and aggravated assault.

He made his first court appearance this afternoon. Bond was set at $350,000.

Columbus police, Lowndes County deputies, and the U.S. Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force arrested him Tuesday.

Erby was charged with accessory after the fact on August 3rd in connection with a shooting in the county. He was released from jail August 11th.

Columbus investigators say the two shootings are unrelated.

September 6th Joshua Richardson was shot to death near Peach and Cherry Streets in Columbus. Tevin Harris was also seriously injured.

Quinton Erby, Kirby Erby’s brother, and Devonte Jones have also been charged in connection with the deadly shooting.
