Pontotoc Alcohol Vote Too Close To Call

PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI) — Pontotoc voters went to the polls Tuesday to decide if alcohol will be sold in their city and the results are too close to call.

Unofficial results from the city clerk’s office show the referendum on beer and light wine sales was separated by 52 votes. 844 voted yes, while 792 voted no.

In the other referendum calling for liquor sales, 825 voted in favor of the measure. 829 voted no.

These totals do not include 55 affidavit ballots that still need to be counted.

It could be five days before that is done and the election is decided.
