Eric Brown had appealed his life plus twenty years sentence saying he was not competent to enter a guilty plea to the death of his girlfriend and her unborn child.  Brown strangled Shorelonda Moore to death behind a Pontotoc restaurant and then drove to Memphis with the body in the trunk.  That’s where he set the car and Moore’s body on fire in an alley.  The court of appeals says Brown was not entitled to a competency hearing.
