Pontotoc Schools Quickly Seize Gun On Campus

PONTOTOC, MS (WCBI) – Pontotoc City School officials say a system designed to protect students worked to perfection this past week.   Superintendent of Schools Karen Tutor says the district received notice Thursday that a student was carrying a gun on the Pontotoc High School campus.  Within minutes, The schools principal, assistant principal and school resource officer had located the student, retrieved the gun and removed the student from campus.  That student now faces criminal charges as well as discipline within the district.  Tutor says at no time were any other students in any danger because of the gun.
