PONTOTOC, Miss. – (WCBI)Pontotoc residents will be splishing and splashing this summer.

The debate over the location of the new splash pad has been determined. Aldermen decided Tuesday night that the best place for the water friendly attraction would be on North Liberty St.

The property is currently being used as a public parking lot and is equipped to handle the $150,000 project, that will feature several sprinklers.

” I oppose the location of it downtown as far as the safety reason. It is the only city parking lot the city does own,” says Pontotoc resident Rex White.

Mayor Jeff Stafford said the attraction would be best suited for to attract people to the downtown area.
