COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A power outage around 6 pm Saturday left thousands in East Columbus without light and heat.

About 8,000 customers of Columbus Light and Water were impacted by the outage, lasting about 90 minutes for most customers and almost 3 hours for others.

Authorities say, there was a problem with the services sub-stations that impacted Tennessee Valley Authority Power Station. New hope was impacted as well.

The cause of the outage is still under investigation.
