Prentiss Co. Investigators Arrest Church Burglary Suspect

PRENTISS CO., Miss. (WCBI) – A Booneville teen is behind bars in connection with a string of church burglaries.

Investigators have been looking into several reports of church _uploadimages_photoAttachment(85612)burglaries that happened in just the last several weeks, and another burglary that happened in July of last year.

In all of the incidents, musical instruments and equipment were stolen from the churches.

They arrested 19-year-old Monte Deshaud Cox and charged him with all four burglaries.

The charges come from an investigation into the burglary at The Vineyard on April 26th, Trinity Bible Believing Church, which was burglarized twice, on July 26th, 2015, and again on April 8th.

Also broken into was the Hills Baptist Church, which was reported March 20th.

Investigators were able to recover some of the stolen property, and are now trying to find the rest.

Cox’s bond has been set at $75,000.

He remains in custody, pending a bond revocation on previous bonds.
