This past Friday Night 03/15/2013 Prentiss County Deputies made three Felon arrests at different Roadside Safety Checkpoint. These check point are set up to monitor safety compliance regarding seatbelt and child restraint usage along with Drivers License and Insurance Compliance. Officers also closely look for individuals that might be Driving Under the Influence or other violations. These checkpoints are set up periodically and in compliance with a Grant that pays the Deputies Overtime to come out and help with the safety checkpoints.

Deputies wrote numerous citations for a variety of infractions and upward of twenty arrests over the weekend. Of these arrests the three felon arrests were drug related.

1) Melinda Jan Osborn 42 of Dennis was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance, her bond was set at $2,500.

2) Teashia Tranae Armstrong 20 of 106 MLK Drive Booneville was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance (Approx. 1 1/2 of Marijuana) and her bond was set at $2,500.

3) Tommy Leon Gray 45 of 65 North Main Street Rienzi was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), his bond was set at $10,000 and $2,000 on other misdemeanor violations. He has a hold placed on him by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Other recent Felon Drug arrests in involving the Manufacturing of Methamphetamine concerned Deputies being called to a possible fire and suspicious person out in the Northeast part of the County. Jonathan Aaron Peacher 28 of 21 HWY 365 Rienzi was arrested and charged with Possession of Chemicals with the Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine. His bond was set at $5,000, but the Mississippi Department of Corrections has a hold on him for Probation or Parole Violation.
