Video: Presley Speaks About The Importance Of Internet Access

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – What if every home in Mississippi had Internet access?

That’s one of Brandon Presley’s goals.

The Northern District Public Service Commissioner says the Internet plays a vital role in almost everyone’s life when he spoke to the Columbus Rotary Club on Tuesday.

Right now, broadbandnow.com reports 69% of Mississippians have access to wired high speed Internet, and there are 94 Internet providers in the state.

“High speed Internet service is the electricity of the 21st century. Every home and business in Mississippi deserve access to high speed Internet service. There are a lot of factors getting it deployed and getting it out there to the rural areas, but we are working hard to overcome those barriers,” says Presley.

Presley also talked about the importance of solar energy for customers.
