Video: Prosecution Rests in Oktibbeha Co. Murder Trial

STARKVILLE, Miss. – (WCBI) An Oktibbeha County murder trial is nearing an end.

The state has rested its case and attorneys for 22-year-old Dennis Thompson started calling witnesses today. The state is expected to call rebuttal witnesses Thursday. The Oktibbeha County jury could get the case late Thursday.

Thompson, who was 18 at the time, claims self defense in the shooting death of 25-year-old Curtis Randle outside a Starkville party venue in May 2010.

Prosecutors claim Thompson was the aggressor.

Thompson is charged with aggravated assault in the wounding of three other high school students.
