JACKSON, Miss. (Press Release) — Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley announced one of the largest No Call enforcement fines ever levied by the Commission. Global Financial Assist, LLC was slapped with a $1,330,000 penalty for 266 telemarketing violations reported to the Commission.

“We want to send a clear message to all telemarketers. If you want to harass Mississippi citizens, be warned that we will come after you. If you violate the law, the punishment will be severe,” Presley warned.

Global Financial Assist, a Florida company, was found to have made unauthorized telephone solicitations to residential customers without purchasing the No-Calls database from the Commission, as required by law. The $1.3 Million fine is the maximum allowable under that law and must be paid within twenty days from the date of the Commission Order.

Mississippians who wish to add their home telephone number to the No Call list should contact the PSC at 1-800-356-6428 or online at www. psc.state.ms.us/nocall.
