Quinn Capital Murder Case Now at Trial Phase

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A case that has been stonewalled by delays finally made headway today.

Archie Quinn, 52, of Sturgis, had his first day of trial in Oktibbeha County court today.

Quinn was charged with capital murder in 2008 after being detained for allegedly shooting and killing 35-year-old Stacy Gray, as well as shooting and injuring 45-year-old Terry Johnson in Johnson’s Oktibbeha County home.

In Oktibbeha County Circuit Court Tuesday, jurors heard several witnesses and 911 tapes and viewed crime scene photos.

Quinn’s attorney is attempting to bring the charge down to manslaughter.

The trial will resume tomorrow.
