Video: Red Cross Honors Volunteers

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The North Mississippi Chapter of the American Red Cross invited volunteers to its Tupelo office on Thursday night to thank them for their efforts.

The reception was held during National Volunteer Week.

Red Cross wanted to recognize the people who freely give their time. Their efforts were instrumental in helping the community recover from last year’s tornado.

“We just wanted to recognize our volunteers because we couldn’t do the work that we do without our volunteers so we are so appreciative to our volunteers that we set aside this week to recognize and show our volunteers how much we appreciate them for the work they do each and every day right her in our community,” said Executive Director Patty Tucker.

The Tupelo chapter covers 31 counties.

The Thursday night appreciation event is one of four that will be held the area.
