PRESS RELEASE

The Red Cross shelter, located at the New Hope Community Center, 381 Stadium Road in New Hope, will remain open tonight. Families will have a safe and warm place to stay, food, and be provided with personal items if needed.

Red Cross workers will continue to work with the displaced residents over the next few days to help them recover from this disaster. In addition to food and housing, medical and mental health services are available as needed.

All Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people. You can help the victims of disaster events in Mississippi and thousands of other disasters across the country each year by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief which enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need.

For tornado safety information please visit www.redcross.org/prepare. Up to the minute preparedness information and warning messages are available on the new Red Cross mobile app, Emergency. This app is downloadable for iPhone and Android phones and tablets at www.redcross.org/apps.

How to help: Those who would like to help people affected by disasters like tornadoes, floods and other crises can make a donation to American Red Cross Disaster Relief. People can donate by visiting www.redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. These donations enable the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters big and small.
