STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-Oktibbeha County Humane Society is barking up the right tree.

They have found a new way to help MSU studentscope withstress, especially animal lovers who’s petsare at home.

For five dollars students and the general public got 20 minutes to play with the puppies at the MSU Drill Field Friday.

Organizers say its a great way to get the adoptable animals socialized, while also raising money for a worthy cause.

The humane society also accepted donations for the local shelter.

“And the dogs get a lot of fun out of it because they get played with. And students who are away from home and they don’t get to have time with their dogs can come and play and they can release some stress before mid terms,” said Kate Thompson, MSU Veterinary Student.

Last November’s Rent a Puppy event raised about $800.
