Video: Residents Weigh In On Comprehensive Plan

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — The Starkville development codes could be changing as soon as next month if alderman act on a comprehensive proposal in their next meeting.

City leaders met with residents twice on Thursday to discuss the proposal draft, and to hear any comments or concerns business owners, land owners, and developers have about the proposal.

The proposal shows future growth opportunities on the city’s east side, near Mississippi State University.  The proposal also states that land annexes are a possibility.

Mayor Parker Wiseman said during the meeting, “we want to makre sure whatever plan we adopt doesn’t discount the voice of the people in this community. That is the most important voice at the end of the day, and that’s exactly what these process are for…”

No official decision was made during today’s input sessions.

The city will meet to discuss the Highway 182 comprehensive plan June 1st.
