Rewards Offered in West Point Robbery, Assault

WEST POINT, Miss. (Press Release) — The West Point Police Department is looking suspects in connection with crimes that were committed in the city. Chief of Police Tim Brinkley says 22 years Desmond Lamar Warren (a.k.a. Head) is wanted in connection with an Armed Robbery that was committed in January. His last known address was 563 Illinois Street in West Point. He was also known to reside at 225 North Long Street in Aberdeen. He is believed to be armed.

According to police reports, a patron at a local hotel was robbed at gunpoint of an undisclosed amount of cash. The robber was last seen exiting the hotel and fleeing in a vehicle that was driven by another individual. Already arrested in connection with this crime is 23 year old Demonte Keshun Cunningham. He has been charged with Armed Robbery is being held in the Clay County Detention Center. Bond has been set at $25,000.

In a separate case police are looking for three suspects in connection with an aggravated assault that occurred on April 21st. On that date police were dispatched to the emergency room at the North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point in reference to a man that had been severely beaten. The victim of the assault reported that two men assaulted him on Critz Street. He reported that an aluminum bat and a 2×4 were used in the attack.

Wanted in connection with this assault is 36 year old Lantra Haughton (a.k.a. Moan). Lantra is 5’11 and weighs 160 lbs. His last known address was 2194 Railroad Road, West Point. He has a large cross on his upper right shoulder. Also wanted is 36 year old Corey Haughton (a.k.a. Black Corey). His last known address was 10045 Davison Line Road, West Point. He is 6’0 and weighs 162 lbs. The name Cory is tattooed on his left arm and he has a cross on his right arm or shoulder.

A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest of any of these individuals. Anyone with information is asked to call Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers or the West Point Police Department at 494-1244.
